Going to Malawi is one of the most exciting events in my calendar and I try to go at least once a year. So many people ask me why I like it and my reasons are plenty. Firstly I lived there for almost ten years, I have worked, rested and played there. To me, it's home. Secondly, its an abstract opposite of my life in the UK where the individualistic 'me' society exists. In Malawi, everyone is special, owing to large extended family sizes. There is poverty and people do struggle on a daily basis to survive, but these struggles are in no way reflected in the faces and hearts of Malawi's people. Little wonder then that Malawi is dubbed as The Warm Heart of Africa. I could go on and on with my reasons why I love Malawi, but will stop now and only aim to encourage you to visit Malawi and see for yourself. Many visit and then often return, but one thing is for sure, once you know Malawi, it will never be far from your mind. A hidden gem waiting to be discovered. This site aims to cover almost every aspect of going to Malawi, but if you cannot find what you want, please feel free to ask on our forum. Zikomo! Roz x |
