Located just eight kilometres outside of Lilongwe, Kumbali Country Lodge is set in a prime piece of indigenous countryside. For a weekend away and as an alternative to the Lake, Kumbali Country Lodge delivers a unique environment in which you can unwind and relax.
ACCOMMODATION & DINING
Exceptional comfort in individually decorated chalets awaits our guests along with an enthusiastic and professional service. There are 13 rooms in total. The 9 executive rooms, which are enclosed under ethnic thatch, have en-suite bathrooms with both shower and bath. Tea and coffee facilities, TV, Internet and a private patio included for additional comfort. The remaining standard rooms are attached to the main homestead and offer shared bathroom facilities for a more economical budget. A laundry service is also available 7 days a week.
Our small, intimate dining room offers a varied menu of healthy, excellent cuisine. A menu is designed on a daily basis and caters to your every need. Eat outside, under umbrellas on the patio, and take in the wonderful vistas in front of you. Fresh vegetables are grown on the farm and we are able to offer a small selection of our own dairy products. Our dining room is open 7 days a week for a hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner; and a selection of wines and other beverages are available to complement the delicious menu. By arrangement, residents may invite guests to join them for meals.

Our newly opened conference centre includes a beautiful multi-level facility with everything, including that crucial away-from-it-all feeling that will make your next event a success. We provide a fully catered service, so your group can really focus on the work of the day. Leave the rest to us.
For that special occasion… Dining in style…. Four to five courses… A place to yourselves with professional service…We cater for private dinner parties up to 30 people. Colour schemes, menu design, flowers etc may be arranged. Cocktail parties for up to 60 people may also be organised.
THE GARDENS
Walks on this 650 hectare estate are quite varied. There is a 200 hectare natural forest home to streams lined with maidenhair fern and indigenous trees. The Lilongwe River borders on one side of the Estate where some magnificent trees are residence to the hammerkop. Many trees indiginous to Malawi can be found here at Kumbali Country Lodge.
During spring, many wild flowers blossom and even wild orchids are in abundance. The forest is an interesting and exhilerating experience for any visitor.
Kumbali Country Lodge is a wonderful place for the bird enthusiast - both night and day. The sounds of the nightjar are quite common in the evening. There is a small amount of game including the hyena, buck, jackal and the shy leopard.
